“This device is truly is fantastic! It allows me to connect my XBox One X, AppleTV 4K and 4K UBD directly to my TV and, thru my TV’s eARC, sending uncompressed audio back to my AVR.

This way, I can enjoy Dolby Vision, VRR and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM)

My AVR, while 6 years old, is a high end Onkyo AVR. It still works and sounds great. I spent over $1500 for this AVR. It is a shame if I must buy a new AVR just to enjoy these latest technologies.

Now, with this tiny device, I can enjoy the latest and greatest features with very little investment.

Like alot of other people with a Sony Android TV and LG Soundbar, I was experiencing constant audio drops when watching 5.1 (Disney, Amazon Prime Video), and Dolby Atmos Content (Vudu), from built in native and downloaded apps on my Sony XBR-x950g and XBR-x90ch (Costco version of the x900h); I have the LG SK10Y Soundbar w/wireless subwoofer, and just bought the new LG SN7R soundbar / subwoofer / wireless rear speakers. I’ve been experiencing these drop out issues for over a year now (after the Android 9 update).

This piece of equipment solved ALL of my sound issues. What a relief!

Many of us have newer TVs that support HDMI E-ARC protocol for sending enhanced audio back from the TV to our AVRs. This is for both external devices attached to the TV HDMI ports and internal apps on the TV (e.g. Netflix, Prime, Apple TV+). Unfortunately, most AVRs, especially any that are more than a couple of years old, don’t support E-ARC (or provide unreliable support). This device solves this gap perfectly and simply. It’s essentially plug and play and you now have stable, reliable access to all of the enhanced audio (e.g. Atmos) from the TV.

I highly recommend this device to solve this issue. I know many of you, like me, are not ready to replace our aging AVRs and processors until they catchup to some new technology like HDMI 2.1 and 8K support. This serves as an economical bridge.

Great device for those of us buying new TVs featuring eARC, but our otherwise perfectly fine AVR setup doesn’t support eARC. If you think you need this, you do!

To clarify, this device plugs into the ARC/eARC HDMI port of the TV, and an HDMI input of the AVR (not MON out), plus USB power. The downside is the setup is now minus one HDMI video input on the TV because this device is only for audio. But the advantage is gaining full range surround audio from the TV to the AVR with a simple to install device. Oh, and audio sync (lipsync) is PERFECT… amazing!

My setup: LG OLED C9 55″ with a Denon 2112ci Atmos AVR (ARC, but no eARC).

This thing does everything I wanted it to do, plus more. I no longer need to use the digital audio port on the TV to get a second stream of audio data to my stereo amp (in addition to the connection to the receiver). I also no longer need to use another DAC to convert signal to my karaoke mixer. Just wire from RCA into the mixer. Love the device. I still think there are lipsync issues on my LG C9, but I don’t think it’s driven by this device. Youtube for instance on the LG app is very slightly off. The advantage when both audio and video went on one cable was that I could have lip sync handled by my AVR (Denon) which is harder to fix when looking at just audio at the receiver.

This just arrived yesterday and has already seemingly fixed all the issues I was having using ARC.

My setup is an LG C9 OLED and a Marantz SR7010 receiver. Prior to this device I would often have audio drop momentarily when using the TV’s streaming apps (Prime, Disney+, etc) and would need to resort to using an optical cable for audio. The TV is hard wired to my gigabit internet, and I tried multiple HDMI cables that all promise 48gbps. Trying to make audio work with standard ARC would never consistently work despite trying every possible setting change you can think of and updating firmware on everything.

I immediately noticed the issue was gone when I started using this. I watched for almost 2 hours without a single audio drop. That would have been unheard of previously.

LG C9 and Denon 4200w owner. I bought this primarily for next gen systems. I tested it with my 4K player, with an HDMI cable running from the 4K player to the C9, and then an HDMI cable in the ARC port on the C9 to the shArc, and then an HDMI cable running from the shArc to the Denon. Denon recognized Dolby Atmos and ran without issue. I’ve watched a few movies and no audio sync issues or drops. No concerns with on-air programs as well. Really happy with this product.

It has did exactly what it said it would. Coupled with a C9 and a Vizio atmos soundbar my need to manually switch cables back and forth for optimum audio is gone. Had a few issues during set up, a few quirks, but that is the nature of the beast sometimes when they are just so many varieties and makes of audio equipment out there. More importantly, when I needed to reach out support was quick, polite and would go the extra mile. At the moment things are working well and touch wood they stay that way.

Product filled a hole in the market that no one else does, allowing me to use a new TV and an older, yet still relevant, sound system. The only points of interest are that there will be lots of cables and clutter behind your tv with this (mine is still hidden though) and when you turn it on there is about a 2 second delay before you here sound. It doesn’t lag, it just takes a second to turn on. I dont find it a big enough inconvenience to move to 4 stars, however.

I bought this device to allow my LG C9 to send HD audio data to my AVR which doesn’t support EARC. The setup is very simple, it works as advertised, and even lipsync is properly supported (which is a first for me). I also like to think that this is a great device to avoid wasting and discarding perfectly working equipment.

Works great with an LG C9 and a Denon AVR-1610/590 (circa 2010). I’m getting DD+ from most webOS apps and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA passed through from external players. Volume control works great, no lip sync issues, no fuss, no muss. Now I can take the ~$500 I saved by not buying a newer AVR with eARC and go get some better speakers!

I have been on the phone with Bose and LG wondering why my system wouldn’t work. It’s because of EARC. They said I needed a newer sound system with EARC. My system is less than a year old. This product saved me so much money. They have wonderful customer service and will troubleshoot any installation issues (User error). If you are having the EARC issue it’s a no brainer.

I got mine delivered today, and it blew new life into my old emotiva umc-1 processor. It really is a amazing product and the customer service is very friendly and fast to respond to any questions you have. Highly recommend it.
